'You Before Me' is an empowering break-up anthem that gets you to your feet grooving but is also worthy of a sneaky cry in the bathroom after your friends leave the party and the glitter settles into your carpet.

This song begun like most songs do for me which is sitting at my instrument (this time piano) and playing notes that sing to me and singing back to them with the whispers of my heart.

Jesa writes "I was inspired by pop music, funk and soul in the way that artists like Maggie Rogers & Aretha Franklin were able to create a dance track that still carried this triumphant power lyrically of a slow ballad."

This song is a reminder for everyone to truly love and value themselves.
